12:3 Another sign was seen in heaven. Behold, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads seven crowns.
12:4 His tail drew one third of the stars of the sky, and threw them to the earth. The dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth he might devour her child.
Was searching around for the Red Dragon paintings when i found this: The Great Red Dragon Paintings of William Blake. There are actually four different paintings.
bq. Around 1805-1810, Blake was commissioned to create over a hundred paintings illustrating books from the Bible. Among these was a four-painting cycle of the Great Red Dragon (Satan) from the Book of Revelations in the Bible. The dragon is described as having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads seven crowns. His tail drew one third of the stars of the sky, and threw them to the earth.
The Red Dragon was the 2nd movie shot from the same book. The earlier movie was called Manhunter itself a classic. It was shot 16 years ago but it wasn’t a hit then.
In the earlier movie, tatoos on the body of Dollarhyde was removed by the director. The most well known change is the removal of the scene featuring Dolarhyde’s Red Dragon tattoo. Certainly, in the scene where Francis holds Freddie Lounds captive, he is wearing a shirt. When he is in bed with Reba, he is
bare-chested with no tattoo to be seen. But once again, a publicity photo exists of actor Tom Noonan in the bed with the tattoo.
“We shot every ‘shirtless’ scene in Manhunter both with tattoo and without. Michael Mann made the choice in editing to use the scenes without tattoo – I remember him saying that it was ‘too much’ and it ‘diminished’ the character.”
